Ninja Theory

At Staak we were asked my Ninja Theory to re-imagine their official site, positioning it as the key tool to handle their recruitment. As part of the discovery process we interviewed a large cross-section of Ninja Theory’s staff to really understand their DNA. This allowed us to design an online destination that uniquely captured what it means to work at Ninja Theory and inspires the very best talent to join their ranks.

In order to create a fast, highly optimised, 'best in class' web experience we built the frontend using the Vue.js framework Nuxt along with Tailwind and GSAP to add the finishing touches of animation to elevate the user experience. Using Nuxt allowed us to statically generate the site at build time which gives us blazing fast performance and enhanced security.

The site needed to be fully editable by Ninja Theory staff so to compliment our JamStack frontend we rolled out a Strapi to provide backend and api. Not only is Strapi a great way to hit the ground running and create content models and apis with very little configuration it also provides an excellent user experience in terms of speed and usability for the site editors.

As part of the backend setup we also configured a custom plugin to poll Ninja Theory's current career opportunities from Workable and display them on the site allowing Workable to act as the single source of truth for job postings, ensuring the career section site is always up to date.
