Digital Impact Alliance

Working in partnership with Unfold Stories, Staak were tasked with developing the new online home for the Digital Impact Alliance to showcase their work, initiatives and create a flexible, scalable knowledge share hub.

The site with Wordpress using a classic theme approach. As fans of Tailwind and the underscore theme generator, we opted for _tw, an un-opinionated starter theme generator that creates themes with Tailwind CSS for rapid bespoke theme development. Once up and running we extended Tailwind's capabilities with a custom fluid spacing and typography scaling system to create a dynamic fluid layout across all viewports.

An easy to use custom modular page building toolkit using Advanced Custom Fields was created in the backend to create a component library that would allow editors to create flexible pages across the site with ease safe in the knowledge that each piece of content adhered to a defined company wide style guide.

The site leant heavily on WordPress's ability to create custom post types and custom taxonomies to organise and tag content and content types into the various site sections. This was then pulled together with the help of the Relevanssi plugin to extend Wordpress's search capabilities, custom JS and Wordpress hooks to build robust search and filtering mechanics throughout the site.

The application was deployed on WPEngine by way of a CI/CD integration with GitHub. User support and training on their CMS system was also provided as part of the wider site deployment.
